Apples and ambles

Caden's been a bit under the weather the past few days. He had a high fever (his first ever--welcome to daycare!) on Friday night, and visited the doctor on Saturday and Monday. The final diagnosis: roseola, a common virus that infects most children by the time they reach school age. Like most viruses, it just had to run its course. The good news is that Caden is back to his cheerful, happy, self. So much so that he took his first intentional steps! After a month of walking only unintentionally (when we would let go without him noticing), today Daddy asked Caden to walk across the room to him, and he did.

Yesterday, we decided to go exploring, and we found a state park nearby with trees, ponds, and nice trails. Unfortunately, the playground there was closed for the season--Caden cried "slide, slide" to no avail--so we found a fun park to play in on the way home, complete with a duck pond with a fountain in it.

We've included a couple of video clips below, one of Caden walking and one of him eating his first apple on the core.
