Exploring a rocky cove

We braved the backroads to explore the geology and rugged coastline of Cornwall last weekend. We chose Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsula - the southernmost point in England - because a serpentine rocky outcrop is exposed and eroded by the ocean. It was a perfect sunny, coastal playground for two boys and their marine ecologist parents, and there was even an incredible cafe for lunch and treats overlooking the ocean.

UK Sabbatical

Mama and Dada are on sabbatical this quarter, and we are spending five weeks in the United Kingdom. We flew from California to London a week ago, spent three days there, then took the train to Cornwall, where we will live, work, and go to school for the next month. Interesting sights and events so far have included the following:

The British Museum

Riding the Tube

The Imperial War Museum

Parliament and the Thames

The Roman wall, the Tower of London, and the Tower Bridge

Paddington Station
